Rolando Villazón & Ildar Abdrazakov
Duets for tenor and bass are few and far between, but opera stars Rolando Villazón and Ildar Abdrazakov brought these rare gems to the stage in a series of concerts across Europe in 2017, produced by Idili. The tour coincided with the release of a Deutsche Grammophon recording featuring the two singers.

The French-Mexican tenor and the Russian bass first met in 2009 when they performed together in Donizetti’s ‘Lucia di Lammermoor’ at New York’s Metropolitan Opera.
The seven-city tour stopped in Prague, Berlin, Baden-Baden, Stuttgart, Munich, Paris and Vienna. Conductor Guerassim Voronkov led the Janáček Philharmonic Orchestra and, in Paris, the Deutsche Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz.
